Harley Fox trained in animal management at Plumpton College but left two years later after deciding she wanted her career to take a different spin. So, while studying animals, she also taught herself to hula hoop.

A while later, she saw an ad on the Circus of Horrors website saying unusual acts and artistes wanted for the show’s 21st anniversary tour. Harley, who had always dreamed of a life in show business, felt she had nothing to lose and applied.

She said: “I thought it sounded great. I first saw the Circus of Horrors when I was 12 - my mum and dad took me along and I just wanted to be a part of it.

“I then saw them on them on Britain’s Got Talent and loved it, so I thought I would apply. I went along for the interview and I auditioned in Dr Haze’s back garden in Wimbledon.”

Harley got the part and within weeks, was joining the show and performing in theatres all over the UK, including London’s O2 Arena and in Amsterdam during the Christmas period.

Harley is now a featured hula hooper in the show, which is on a nationwide tour coming to Crawley, Hastings and Brighton as part of the run.
