Former teacher dies

A MEMBER of a well-known local family has died, aged 82.

Anita Willey worked as a teacher at a number of Sussex Schools including Newhaven Girls School, Newhaven Secondary Modern and Tideway School, Newhaven.

Her mother and father owned FJ Bravery and Sons, a home furnishings shop in Broad Street, Seaford.

Her grandfather Charles Bravery owned South Down Farm, Seaford, on which a number of housing estates were built.

Mrs Willey died over the Christmas period while staying at a hotel with her son Anthony in Sidmouth.

In 1946 she met and married Sydney Willey.

When Sydney died in 1995, her son Anthony returned home to look after her at her house in Saltdean.

Mrs Willey's funeral will take place on Friday (January 18), 1.45pm at St Nicholas Church, Saltdean, followed by a cremation at Downs Crematorium in Brighton at 3pm.
