Hailsham Community Forum is looking to expand its membership.
The forum is open to all community groups, associations and charities in the area, and aims to help build a better communication network between voluntary and statutory groups.
A spokesman for the forum said the long term benefits of joining the forum could be cost savings to your group, for instance more leverage with ordering leaflets, printing costs, and sharing resources. The forum, which meets monthly, currently consists of more than 20 community organisations.
Deputy Town Clerk and Business Enterprise Manager Mickey Caira said: “The Hailsham Community Forum has grown since its launch in April with a number of groups wishing to become a member. We are looking for additional members who can include community groups, voluntary organisations, charities, parent/teacher groups and residents’ associations among others.”
Cllr Nick Collinson, who helped set up the forum, said: “The aim is to bring together people from a wide representation of voluntary and community groups in Hailsham to discuss issues of mutual interest and share information on local and national developments of interest including new funding opportunities, in addition to exchanging ideas, knowledge and experience and enabling partnership working with other organisations. We welcome all representatives from community groups and charities in Hailsham to join with us at the forum.”
The next forum meeting is at 6pm on October 21 at Hailsham Parish Church lounge. If you are interested in attending contact Michelle Hagger on 01323 841702.
