Four fire engines race to crash

A WOMAN was freed by firefighters after a car and van collided.

The crash happened on the A259 Pevensey bypass, westbound, at noon on Thursday last week.

Four fire engines, 15 firefighters and one officer arrived at the scene.

Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to free the woman, aged in her early 40s, from her vehicle.

She was taken to the Eastbourne District General Hospital with leg injuries.
