Frank flies the flag for St Michael's Hospice

Bexhill Rotarians were welcomed to Rotterdam and invited to enter the Rotterdam Marathon.

A sole volunteer was found in Frank Field who was then surprised to learn that the Gouda team were running in relay of just 6 miles each.

Frank, however, completed the full 26 miles and raised 400 for St Michael's Hospice.

Frank decided, having run in the London Marathon, that it would be a great idea to run in fancy dress, so decided on the Union Jack. Spectators were somewhat bemused as he was the only one in fancy dress and this caused some embarrassment to the Gouda Rotarians.

At the end of the race, however, locals decided it was much more fun being in the company of the cheering Bexhill travellers and expressed an interest in the Hastings event.

St Michael's Hospice needs to raise more than 3 million each year so they can care for patients and support their families in Hastings and Rother and is extremely grateful to Frank and the Bexhill Rotarians for their continued support.
