Free computer sessions at Senior Citizens club

THE BEXHILL Senior Citizen's club, 45 Eversley Road, is extending an invitation for people to go and see what the club's computer classes have to offer with two free computer taster sessions.

Open to anyone over the age of 55, the two morning sessions will provide the opportunity to find out more information on the small computer classes which are regularly held at the club, which cover complete beginners, to internet and email and basic photography lessons.

The sessions will be held on 6th and 7th July between 10am-12noon, and Group Leader Shirley Earl said everyone will be made welcome.

Shirley said: " Everyone will be warmly welcomed and given the chance to see how they do on the computers - or just watch and see how others do. Membership of the club is not necessary for these mornings, and all will be welcome to come along and give it a try.

"The small classes last for a two hour duration and are run on most weekdays. The courses consist of six weeks, and cost only 12. Classes are run by volunteers who will teach at a pace that everyone can cope with, bookings for courses are taken in advance and the only condition for joining the group is that membership of the parent club is a must."

She added:

"So, take the plunge and don't be fright.

Our computers and tutors really don't bite,

A computer's like an office desk and if you use it well

Within a few weeks you will think they're really swell."

The Senior Citizen's club run a wide range of interesting activities, including ballroom dancing, indoor bowls, art, writing, keep fit, games, dominoes, and bridge. In addition, coffees and teas are available in the mornings and light lunches are also available to members.

It costs 15 for the first year (12 a year thereafter) to join the club, and Shirley said there is, "something for everyone to enjoy".
