Free family event at Manor Barnwill help children learn new skills

There will be lots of activities and fun for families to enjoy when Calm Farm holds its second free annual summer event on Sunday August 14 from 11-4pm at the Manor Barn and Gardens in Bexhill Old Town.

Drawing on the success of last year and money raised for their drumming project for disabled children ‘Beatz Squad’, this year they plan to make it three times bigger and will be raising money for their new project ‘Remarkable me’.

This project is designed for children who are experiencing anxiety and low self-esteem by using the Arts to help awaken and inspire children to develop their creativity, overcome hurdles, learn new skills and build resilience.

There will be live music from Moonbeans Duo, Native Flute experience from ‘om Brennan, funky dance music from Rhythm Fields and the Jam on Tuesday Ukulele group.

There will be plenty to keep the kids occupied on the day with giant balloon modelling and bubbles, face painting three types of animal handling experiences and forestry activities, arts and crafts activities, amusement rides and excellent prizes.

For adults there is a great range of cocktails, beers and wines, traditional cream teas from Little vintage tea box, Ice cream from Di Paolo’s, hot food from Naturally Wild and many stall All this will be topped off with fun drumming and Zumba participation on the lawn, making it a truly wonderful day to remember.’
