Free fitness charity boost

Free classes at Bexhill Leisure Centre on Saturday helped banish January blues and raised funds for charity at the same time.

Freedom Leisure held an energetic morning of free classes, from aerobics and latin to yoga and pilates, with the idea of encouraging people to try something new to get fit and healthy.

Membership Advisor Nicole White said: "It has been pretty good.

Anybody new to aerobics had the chance to come along and try without having done it before. It was an opportunity to just come along and have a chat with the instructor and try something out.

"I think it can be daunting for people who are new to it, and this is about trying to bridge that gap."

The classes also included body conditioning, stability ball, legs bums and tums, and step, with latin proving to be the most popular choice.

Nicole commented: "I would like to thank all the teachers that have given up their time to do this - obviously it is a Saturday morning so they have given up their leisure time.

"It was also about fundraising for St Mary's Wrestwood Children's Trust -which is a local charity we have done with with before...they are a fantastic group of people."
