Free ‘have-a-go’ fishing & archery in Herstmonceux

BRICK Farm Lakes trout fishery in Herstmonceux is holding its first open day event with the help of the Eastbourne & District Fly Fishers’ Club.

The event is open to everyone from 10am to 4pm on April 29. Entrance and parking are also free.

People will be offered free ‘have-a-go’ fishing sessions where anyone can learn how to cast.

There will also be free ‘have-a-go’ archery sessions from Aim Archery.

Demonstations will be held throughout the day on: what you need to start fly-fishing; setting up your line;learning the knots; fly-tying; how to gut a trout; how to fillet a trout; and how to hot smoke a trout 

There will also be local arts and craft stands, homemade food and cake, tea and locally roasted coffee and a barbecue.

Also a new hand drawn children’s book created at Brick Farm ‘Woffles A Fishy Adventure’ will be launched on the day.
