Friends of Lewes art contest focuses on your favourite places

Children and young people are being asked to pick up their paintbrushes for an art competition organised by the Friends of Lewes.

The theme for the contest is A Special Place in Lewes and prizes are up for grabs.

A selection of the pieces will even be used in the Friends of Lewes calendar for 2016.

Entry is open to children and young people living in the town or who go to school in the town.

There are categories for ages four to seven, eight to 11 and 12 to 18.

Prizes are a £25 book token for the winners of each age group.

Competitors can draw, paint, make a print or collage of a building or place in Lewes which they think is special.

All entries will be made available on http://friends-of-lewes.org.uk/

Winners will be notified by the end of September 2015.

Pictures should be drawn on A4 paper, landscape.

Entry forms are available on the website. These should include name, age, address and reasons for choosing the building or special place.

Entries should be handed into your school office for collection by the Friends of Lewes or taken or posted to the Town Hall, High Street, Lewes, BN7 2QS marked up FOL Special Places Competition.

The Friends of Lewes aims to stimulate public interest in the beauty, history and character of Lewes and its surrounding area and to protect the town for future generations.
