Friends prepare for bike challenge

Three friends are gearing up for a 900 mile bicycle adventure to raise funds for Cancer Research.

On July 9, Anthony Hunter of Netherfield, Jack Saul-Hunt of Hastings and Rowan Roesch, who lives in Surrey but grew up in Netherfield, are planning to cycle from Dorking to Barcelona.

The first leg of the journey will take the trio from Dorking to Portsmouth where they will catch a ferryto Le Harve.

From there, they willride through France, over the Spanish border and into Spain where they will reach their final destination.

The journey is expected to take just short of three weeks and the men will be camping and staying in hostels along the way.

The group are being sponsored by The White Hart Inn, Netherfield, which is helping provide equipment for the event.

Anthony said: "The whole bike ride is in aid of Cancer Research.

"This is a very important charity to all of us, and most probably very many of yourselves, as everyone, including us, has been affected by the hurt and pain cancer can cause.

"Therefore we all feel very strongly about doing something positive to help an extremely worthwhile cause."
