Frirefighters rescue people from burning flat

FIREFIGHTERS rescued four people from a blaze.

One man was injured in the fire which tore through flats in Marshall Lane, Newhaven, at around 2.30am last night (Tuesday).

Fire crews from Seaford and Newhaven attended the fire which started in the ground floor flat but affected two other properties.

Twenty fire fighters attended and helped three people to safety with one man making his own way out.

The injured man, who suffered burnt hands and smoke inhalation, was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
