From white van man to spray-can: Bobby gives van a makeover

A LOCAL charity is taking its name on the road after a manager armed with a spray can gave their van a new paint job.

The once-blank van belonging to the Ufosa Foundation, which has a shop in Western Road as well as in Hastings and Battle, will now carry Ufosa's logo around Rother and Hastings.

Ufosa founder and president Robert Vallier thanked 22-year-old Bobby Hopkins-Barry, area manager for the charity, for his "talented and artistic" handiwork.

"I used acrylic spray paints," said Bobby, who went to Hastings College. "I was delighted to be asked to do the design for Ufosa, and hope it will bring more attention, donation and business to our shops."

Robert, who began You Fund Our Special Areas (Ufosa) two years ago, to concentrate on helping under-privileged or ill South African children as well as those in the UK, said: "We kept thinking about losing free advertising. It's all about making the public aware of what we are doing. And this is a fun, contemporary style."
