Full fat milk is a parental issue, say farmers

A row led by a West Sussex farmer is breaking out over the government's decision to take whole milk off the list of foods offered to schoolchildren.

Plaistow milk farmer Gwyn Jones chairman of the National Farmers' Union Dairy Board, has written the Department of Education and Skills to protest at the decision by the School Meals Review Panel.

The government has said that only skimmed and semi-skimmed milk should be supplied to schoolchildren.
