Fully-grown iguana George sunbathing in Bexhill

An expected sunbather was spotted on the promenade when the sun finally shone yesterday (Thursday, April 14).

A fully-grown iguana called George was casually catching some rays on the seafront.

The nearly-4ft long reptile joined the throngs of sunseekers to make the most of the warm weather.

“We have to keep the heating on in our nearby flat 24/7 to keep George in peak condition, but when the sun shines, the gas goes off and we all go out sun seeking,” George’s owner told the Observer.
