Fun Day at St Mary Magdalene RC school

IT WAS all the fun of the fair at St Mary Magdalene Roman Catholic school's Summer Fun Day on Saturday.

And whilst the weather may have been a bit dull and chilly, the rain held off and spirits certainly weren't dampened, as the many who flocked to the event found plenty in store to keep them entertained.

Always well supported, the PTA and teachers, who organise the event, had once again pulled out all the stops to put on a good show.

Along with a bouncy castle, fairground rides, and a range of games, many stalls sold a variety of items including toys, books, plants, bric a brac and clothes.

A juggler was on hand to provide entertaining tricks to keep children amused, whilst a sizzling barbecue and scrumptious home-made cakes, candy floss and ice-creams kept hunger pangs at bay.

A pets corner gave people the opportunity to observe and have their photographs taken with a range of amazing feathered friends provided by 1066 Falconry.

In addition the school extended an invitation to Bexhill Lions to attend the event.

The Lions provided a book stall '“ with books gratefully received from Little Common Library '“ a lucky number teddy bear game, freshly made crepes and the chance to win a fiver cleverly locked in a box, all that was needed was the right key to fit the lock and a loud siren heralded the winner.

Treasurer of the PTA, Kerry Cowles, said the day had been a great success and lots of fun adding:

"We aim to make the day loads of fun for people both from the school and the local community. Everyone involved has pulled out all the stops which has been really, really nice."
