Dozens flocked to the local school to enjoy a day of family fun and head of school James Freeston said the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), who organised the event, did the school proud. “It was a great success and we had a really good turn out. Lots of fun was had by all and with the glorious sunshine we couldn’t have wished for a better day.”

There was plenty to keep young and old entertained. Along with traditional stalls selling a variety of things, including books and toys, a tombola, raffle, added attractions included fairground rides, face-painting, refreshments, a barbecue, games and crockery smash all added to the fun.

King Offa’s school country dancing team, consisting of talented 7-11 year olds, entertained and delighted the crowd with their energetic performance.

The event raised over £750 which Mr Freeston said will be put towards improving the school’s playground facilities.
