Fund raising dog walk willhelp Northiam Blue Cross

NORTHIAM’S Blue Cross animal charity is inviting people to get fit for spring by taking part in a fund-raising dog walk this Sunday.

Walkers can start the route at any time between 10am to 12pm, beginning at the charity’s centre at St Francis Fields.

All money raised will go toward the care of all the homeless cats and dogs cared for at the centre every year.

Maria Steel, Blue Cross re homing centre manager in Northiam, said: “We’re all really looking forward to the sponsored walk, it’s always a really fun event. It’s a great chance to meet other dog owners and get out the fresh air with our pets. And if you needed any more incentive, there will be tea, coffee, bacon butties and veggie burgers for everyone that joins us.”

Maria added: “Events like this are really important to help us raise money for the homeless pets in our care, so we’d love as many people as possible to join us.”

The walk takes place in the country footpaths and rural lanes around the picturesque village of Northiam.

It is around three miles and may include field walking and some stiles, so sturdy footwear is recommended. A minimum donation of £5 per dog is requested or alternatively, sponsor forms are available from the centre – contact 0300 777 1510 for more information.

Blue Cross receives no government funding for the work it does in caring for animals.
