And she’s enlisted the help of entertainers and businesses which are pulling out all the stops to support her.

On Saturday, March 17 the Big Beach Café in Hove Lagoon – owned by international DJ Fatboy Slim – will host a fundraising event for the Portslade mum.

It will include family-friendly performances with Zaz the Clown and friends, a children’s disco with DJ Molly Malone, Mujishan’s Big Bubble Circus, a Sama Karate display, face painting and Miss Sparkles.

Mark Williams, Mr Weasley from the Harry Potter films, will host a raffle, and businesses are asked to donate prizes.

Giselle, 45, who has a PHD in biomedical engineering, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in 2014. After surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy she had no detectable cancer in her body, but in 2016, after headaches and visual disturbances, Giselle had a seizure and a large tumour was found in her brain. Following major surgery and radiotherapy, things were looking positive. However, more brain tumours are now back and growing and she has recently completed whole brain radiotherapy – currently her last treatment option left on the NHS –which will only slow the growth.

Giselle said: “There are more options available which I’m aware of through my scientific background and links to various oncologists – I have reason to believe that treatment with immunotherapy could be really beneficial for me, and/or platinum therapy and proton beam therapy.

“Unfortunately none of these are available to me on the NHS at this point!”

She’s hoping to raise £300,000 to help fund the cutting-edge treatment, and the ‘Lagoona Matata!’ event at the Big Beach cafe is part of the campaign.

Giselle hopes there will be more fundraising events in the pipeline, as she said she wants to be ‘given a chance to see her boys grow up’.
