Fundraising ball to help young boy with cerebral palsy

A CHARITY ball is being organised in Whatlington to help pay for intensive physiotherapy for a boy with cerebral palsy.

Joshua Smith, 10, of St Leonards, attends the Footsteps Centre for intensive physiotherapy sessions which cost £2,500 for three weeks.

The sessions mean he can walk short distances unaided and for longer periods with a walking frame, rather than being wheelchair-bound.

Also set to benefit from funds raised by the event is Westerleigh Judokwai, which meets at Claverham Community College in Battle.

The group specialises in integrating players with additional needs into mainstream judo.

The ball will be held at Leeford Place Hotel, Whatlington, on Saturday June 15.

The fundraising event includes a two course dinner, live band and disco until the early hours.

Tickets cost £31 per person.
