“Three fire engines were sent to the scene.

“As of 9.30pm firefighters were dampening down the scene to ensure the fire was out.”

The spokesman confirmed the fire was confirmed as accidental due to faulty electricals.

In the wake of the fire, a gofundme fundraising page has been set up to help a family whose caravan was destroyed in the blaze.

The page, which has been set up by Marischa Harding, reads: “Last night my mum and dad lost all of their possessions in a fire at the caravan they have been using while in between homes.

“The caravan was my nan and grandads, which they have been staying in using as a home, with their dog.

“Luckily my mum was alerted to the fire by a bright light and managed to get herself and Rosie the dog to safety just in time. Unfortunately that’s all she was worried about and able to save!

“They have now lost everything. All they now have are the clothes on their back.

“We know everyone is struggling during this horrendous pandemic but any help, we would be truly grateful.

“Family and friends are pulling together as we all just want to see them settled and able to get any help they need to recover from this devastating situation.”

Since the fundraising page has been set up, Marischa’s mum has taken to Facebook to thank people for their kindness.

Writing on the Seaford Open Notice Board public Facebook page, she said: “On the 4th of November at around 8pm, my life was set on a different course.

“Where I was staying for a while was engulfed in flames.

“I lost everything, including my car, which I depended on to get around.

“I only had the clothes I was wearing.

“Due to the outstanding support I received from the site on that night, I do not know how I would have coped.

“I am so grateful to them, words are not enough.

“I am overwhelmed by all the kindness shown from total strangers that have taken the time to donate clothing etc, and to those people I can only say, thank you so much.

“Finally to my family, I love you so much, and I do not know where I would be without you all.

“Much love to everyone.”
