Future clearer for Shoreham Port development

THE future of the Lady Bee Marina and industrial estate is looking brighter following Shoreham Port's decision to withdraw its planning appeal against Adur District Council's refusal to allow a development scheme to go ahead there.

A planning inquiry due to open on 12 March has been scrapped following the port's decision, allowing the council and South East England Development Agency (SEDA) to concentrate on an alternative proposal for the area.

The announcement by Shoreham Port brings to a close almost four years of dialogue.

The Port says it made the decision because the most recent ideas for the regeneration of Lady Bee and the North Canal Bank look better and are more exciting than the previous proposals.
