A fun-filled day saw the children making theatrical masks, which were worn in their own production of Theseus and the Minotaur.

Things got a bit gruesome as one class turned Spartan for the afternoon, while another class spent a philosophical few hours as Athenians.

Battle commenced at the end of the day, when the two clashed in the school hall.

Mrs Becca Rose, year-five teacher, said: “Anyone arriving at Glebe Primary School last Tuesday may have felt like they had stepped back in time, as Greek mania swept across year five.

“It has been a great way to kick start our summer of learning about those Ancient Greeks – and being treated as a goddess for the day wasn’t too bad either!”

The children dressed up as Ancient Greeks and took part in a variety of themed activities.
