GALLERY: Normans defeat Saxons 950 years later in Battle of Hastings re-enactment

Hundreds of people dressed as Norman and Saxon soldiers took part in a re-enactment of the Battle of Hastings to mark the 950th anniversary at the weekend.

The Battle Abbey grounds were taken over for the re-enactment with replica camps for both sides and a battlefield in between where the Normans maintained their winning streak.
