GALLERY: Year 11 Felpham Community College students live and let jive at 007 prom

Black tie suits and ballgowns were in evidence as Felpham Community College students staged an 007-themed prom.

The pupils marked the end of their GCSEs by organising the James Bond tribute night at the college.

A red carpet was rolled out and crowd-control barriers put in place to add to the atmosphere of celebrity around the event.

Some 200-300 spectators who turned up to watch the arrivals also made the occasion special.

They saw a succession of novel methods of arrival as the 168 students made a grand entrance to the prom.

They included a horse, for which Kirsty Brooke won an award for the most imaginative transport, fire engines and ambulances and more stretch limos and Hummers than the average celeb-laden cocktail party.

Champagne of the non-alcoholic variety provided plenty of fizz as well.

College Year 11 year leader Rachel Greenland said: "It was a perfect evening in every respect."

The king and queen of the prom were chosen as Gary Maskell and Rachel Morris, with Ramina Choudhury voted as the best-dressed girl and Sam Garnett as the best-dressed boy.

Several fun awards lightened the mood on the memorable night.
