Garden Gets Treatment

OPEN and clean gardens welcome visitors to Littlehampton Hospital, thanks to an overhaul and injection of cash.

The hospital s League of Friends, after consulting with nurses and staff, spent 14,500 on the face-lift.

Gone is the tatty old hedge and worn-out lawns. In their place is a Mediterranean-themed garden, complete with water feature and stone sitting areas.

The work also included lopping of over-hanging trees and an on-going maintenance programme.

Chairman of the Friends Ann Thomson said: We are thrilled to bits with it.

Before we took the hedge out, our main concern was people could see in but they can t, as the garden slopes and we ve planted a new hedge.

New turf has been laid and everything taken from the garden, including the old hedge, has been recycled back as chip bark.
