Garden team takes the cup

A TEAM effort ensured the best overall entry prize in this year's Seaford in Bloom competition for residents and staff at Hometye House.

Hometye, private residential flats for the elderly in Claremont Road, scooped the Newlands Cup for best overall entry. Past successes for the flats include five first places in the competition.

Green-fingered manager Kathy Jackson said she and residents were delighted with the result. She added: 'We are very pleased as we all work hard in the garden the gardener does the basic ground work, the residents of the ground floor do outside their flats and I do the rest.'
