Generosity blossoms at Wick shop
DESPITE the difficult economic climate, one Wick flower shop has proved that generosity is still blooming in abundance after it raised £840 for Cancer Research UK in a single day.
Staff at The Flower Shop, in Wick Street, were left overwhelmed as customers and passers-by gave generously on Thursday to aid their fundraiser. And there was an array of ideas to entice donations, from a tombola with 200 prizes, to a home-made cakes on sale.
Shop owner Michelle Bly said: “Our aim was to raise as much as we could for Cancer Research UK and to have fun at the same time, I think we achieved both!”
