Generous kids at King Offa

GENEROUS school children at King Offa Primary School gave up their loose change to benefit others last week.

The school made a 'heart of coins' with donations from pupils, with proceeds going to children growing up near Chernobyl.

Youngsters from the area of the nuclear disaster suffer from ill health as a result of radioactive contamination.

The collection will be put towards paying for them to have trips to the UK on 'detoxing' holidays.

The idea for the fundraiser came from 10-year-old pupil Minnie Dewey.

Two children from Chernobyl are due to stay with Minnie and her family later this year.
