German students attacked in Goring

TWO German students were attacked by three men while they were walking with friends in Goring.

Police have just realeased details about the incident involving two students who were part of a group of 50 German students walking from Durrington Railway Station along Chesterfield Road towards Wavertree Road at 8.45pm on Wednesday, March 17.

They were approached by three white men who the students believed were either offering them drugs or asking if they had any.

One of the students was punched in the mouth while the other was head butted on the bridge of his nose.

The two students have now returned to Germany.

The three men are described as white youths in their early to mid teens with one taller than the other two who were about 5 foot 2 inches tall.

One of the shorter men was wearing a jacket with a red hood and the taller man was wearing a black or dark blue hoodie.

Sergeant Anna Gent said: "This kind of behaviour is not acceptable under any circumstances, and does not give the right impression of how friendly Worthing is to any foreign visitors."
