Get on your bike to raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice

St Catherine’s Hospice is launching its Sussex Weald Bike Ride which will start and finish at Handcross Park School on Sunday, May 19.

Riders can choose from four routes, a 10-mile circuit for families, and the more challenging 20, 40 and 60-mile routes.

Jen Wickham, event fundraiser at St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “This year will be the tenth Sussex Weald Bike Ride and we’re hoping to raise £20,000 from the event. Whether you’d like to pedal like Pendleton or think Hoy’s the boy, our bike ride is great fun. It is also the perfect excuse to explore the beautiful Sussex countryside, get fit and raise much-needed funds to ensure we’re on hand to care for local people and their loved ones through their most difficult times.

“We’re proud to be in our 30th year and we’re hoping participants will help us celebrate by politely saddling their friends, families and colleagues with some sponsorship requests. Every penny raised will be helping provide care and support for people who are facing up to life with a terminal illness across Crawley, Horsham, Mid Sussex and East Surrey.”

Advance registration is open until Friday, May 10 and is just £15 for adults with under 18s free and teams of 6 or more adults receiving a 20 per cent discount. You can also sign up on the day for £23. Every person who completes the course will receive a well-deserved medal to mark their achievement. You can sign up and view the routes online at www.stch.org.uk/bikeride ; pick up a leaflet at your local St Catherine’s Hospice shop or call Jen Wickham on 01293 447364 or email [email protected]
