Gift shop collects top UKaward

ARUNDEL department store Sparks Yard beat off competition from national chains and independent shops to win a top retailing award.

Owners Holly and Andy Heggadon were presented with the Best Lifestyle Retailer 2011 award at a ceremony in London organised by the gift industry.

They received the award from comedian John Moloney, who was the host at the ceremony, held to recognise the achievements of gift retailers regionally and nationally.

Said Holly: “It was such a surprise to hear our name read out for this national award. My knees were shaking as I walked onto the stage.

“We are so proud of our team at Sparks Yard and are truly thrilled to have won the ‘Greats’ Best Lifestyle Retailer 2011.

“It has been a busy year for us as we opened an additional shop, RSVP, by the Town Quay in Arundel. We live and work in the town and absolutely love it.”

To win the Best Lifestyle Retailer award, Sparks Yard had to demonstrate excellent shop window displays, as well as providing an outstanding retail environment, highlighting the lifestyle approach by grouping looks together across product ranges.
