Gift to St John ambulance

A member of staff at the company in Collington Avenue responded to a recent article in the Bexhill Observer where the charity had asked for support.

"One of our workers noticed the story in the Observer and asked if we as a big company could help," said John Dunne from Hastings Direct.

"We contacted St John Ambulance, offered them the equipment and we delivered it all to them as well.

"As a local company employing around 1,000 staff we realise the need - and indeed are happy - to support local groups and organisations whenever we can."

The charity opened its new HQ last week, and Jill Andrews, member in charge, said she was pleased at the gifts from Hastings Direct.

She said: "We are absolutely delighted and want to say thank you to Hastings Direct. We really did not expect anything quite so nice."
