GLORIOUS GATEWAY TO THE TOWN

MP Greg Barker recently won a pledge from Railtrack to renovate the grade II listed building.

The renovation will concentrate on the importance of the station as the gateway to Bexhill for visitors and regular train passengers.

As well as plans for window and canopy repairs, Mr Barker and leader of the council Graham Gubby asked for:

*Removal of disused kiosk and restoration of station facade

*A new forecourt design with floral displays and hanging baskets

*Recognition of the building as important in creating a positive first impression for visitors.
