Glynde & Beddingham

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS: The village is making preparations to celebrate The Queen's 90th birthday. Over the past week the WI have been making sure our villages are tidy and clean by picking up litter. Everyone can help with this, if you see any litter when you are walking do not just leave it, pick it up and put it in the nearest bin. On Thursday April 21 at 7.30pm there will be a beacon fire on Mount Caburn followed by a firework display. Many thanks to Glynde Estate and the parish council for sponsoring this event.

SAD FAREWELL: The village says a sad farewell to Pete Lacey who, having lived in Glynde for many years, moved back to Essex to be close to his family for his final days. Pete’s funeral will be in Essex on March 23 but as it would have been his 74th birthday on March 24, please do come along to Glynde Working Men’s Club at 7pm to raise a glass to a long lost friend of the village.
