Go Red in Feb to help Worthing Hospital

DO you have the heart to go Red in Feb?

Worthing Hospital has launched its latest campaign in support of the ongoing £1million fund-raising appeal for a new cardiac cath lab.

Red in Feb involves people dressing in red for one day in February. From lipstick and lycra to ties and tights – to get involved just choose a day, and donate at least £1 to the charity for each person who takes part.

Lesley-Anne Lloyd, head of the Love Your Hospital charity, which is running the campaign, said: “We hope lots of people take the chance to Go Red in Feb – it is a chance to have a bit of fun and raise money for a really important cause at the same time. If you want to take part, and even better if you can rope in your friends and colleagues, then we want to hear from you.”

The cardiac cath lab will dramatically improve services for heart patients across the south coast area, from Worthing to Chichester.

Cath labs perform cardiac procedures such as angiograms and angioplasty, and greater capacity is essential to ensure timely treatment is available for the growing numbers of people requiring treatment for heart conditions.

Staff at Western Sussex Hospitals Trust, which runs Worthing, Southlands and St Richard’s hospitals, will be taking part in Red in Feb. The best departments will win prizes for their effort and imagination, and they have chosen February 24 as their day to back the appeal.
