Gold certificate in music for school

The Towers Convent School has been awarded Gold Music certificate by the Incorporated Society of Musicians

Headmistress Clare Trelfa proudly said: “Congratulations to Mrs Gray and last year’s GCSE music pupils on their results. Coming 41st in England is a remarkable achievement, which reflects the hard work and commitment of Mrs Gray and her talented pupils.”

Deborah Annetts, Chief Executive of the Incorporated Society of Musicians said: “Music is a hugely important subject in itself, for future professional careers and for wider learning in a school; it adds huge benefits to the wider curriculum, school and community life and educational opportunity.

“As the professional body for musicians, we are delighted to recognise this high level of achievement with this certificate.”

The certificate is supported by the ISM Trust (www.ismtrust.org), the charitable arm of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.

The Trust was created in 2015 to promote and support music education and music itself.
