Golden couple celebrating their 50 happy years together
Bob and Pat Hillman met while on holiday at Butlins in Skegness in 1964. Pat was just 16 and from Twickenham and Bob was 19 and from Willingdon.
They married on March 18, 1967 at Twickenham Green Baptist Church in Twickenham and honeymooned in Jersey, before initially making their family home in Eastbourne.

Hide AdThey moved to Polegate in the 1980s and then Willingdon where they have lived for nearly twenty years and where they are the third generation of the family to do so.
Bob worked at the then Dental Estimates Board, which is now home to Gildredge House School, and as a guard on the London Underground before training and qualifying as a plumber.
Together, the couple took over the family business – R E Moors Builders in 1986. They set up Aqua Plumbing and Heating shortly after and they retired in 2000. Both businesses were based in Latimer Road, Eastbourne. R E Moors had been there since 1946.
Bob and Pat have three children Alison, Colin and David and six grandchildren Emily, Sophie, Becky, Joe, Ella and Matthew who they adore spending time with.

Hide AdPat helped set up Eastbourne Lifeline in the 1980s and Bob served as a parish councillor for Willingdon and Jevington Parish from 2003 to 2007.
Bob is also an avid supporter of Eastbourne Town and Brighton and Hove Albion Football Clubs.
