Golf Day at Blatchington Golf Course raises cash for Seaford in Bloom

A GOLF Day for Seaford in Bloom at Blatchington Golf Course on Wednesday May 18 raised £1,500.

It proved to be an enormous success and attracted fantastic support in spite of the cold weather.

Money will go towards floral displays in Seaford.

Seaford in Bloom chairman Jim Murray said: “Seaford in Bloom would like to thank the organisers of the event, Arthur Bradbury and John Lockyer, together with their helpers, the twenty one teams of four that took part and the catering staff who provided such an excellent meal.

“Sincere thanks also go to everyone who donated raffle prizes and the event sponsors, The White Lion Hotel, V.R Flowers & Son, Tomsetts Distribution Ltd and Swindells LLP.”

The winning team was JxP Consultancy followed by runners up Barwell’s Invitation and the winning mixed team was The Strangers.

Judging of the 2011 Seaford in Bloom Floral competition will take place on Tuesday July 12 and anyone with a garden, hanging basket or floral container is encouraged to enter.

Entry forms from and or from Fotobox, Broad Street and the Tourist Information Centre, Church Lane.
