It was a great start to 2017 for Birch Trees Nursing Home at Easebourne where 20 people were in residence at the time of the inspectors’ visit.

And it was good news at Barlavington Manor, Heath End near Petworth where 56 people were living when the inspection took place last month.

At Birch Trees inspectors said: “People and relatives spoke positively about the service. They said that it was welcoming and people received a high standard of care. There was a regular team of staff who knew people well.”

Inspectors found residents felt safe and developed good relationships with staff who were ‘kind and treated them respectfully’.

“Staff responded quickly to changes in people’s needs and adapted care and support to suit them.”

At Barlavington Manor inspectors said: “Feedback from people, relatives and professionals was very positive. People told us they felt safe at the service, that they enjoyed support and friendship from a regular staff team and that they were regularly asked for their views and opinions. One person told us, ‘I love it here. The staff are so good and it makes me feel safe’.
