Good luck, Chris

GOOD LUCK Chris! That's the message to local Pop Idol 2 contestant Chris Hide, who competes again on Saturday.

Chris, from Lancing, was the first contestant to make it through to the final 12 of the reality TV show. He will have to perform live against 11 other competitors.

Chris, 18, who went to Boundstone Community College, is among the favourites to win the show after he impressed the judges with his version of End of the Road. He came second in the viewers poll with 19.3 per cent of the vote.

Lancing Parish Council chairman Joy Hartley also added the council's best wishes: "We congratulate

Chris on his magnificent performances on Pop Idol so far. I am sure his family is proud of him, as is the whole of Lancing. We wish him well in next round."

Pop Idol 2 will be shown live on ITV1 on Saturday at 7.10pm.
