GOOD RESPONSE IN ROBBERY HUNT

Police have received several calls from people who saw the Mercedes Sprinter van concerned in the robbery of a computer hardware company in Sybron Way, Crowborough, on January 29.

Local people said they saw it in the area on the day of the robbery.

Police earlier issued photographs of the van when it was being driven in Kent in December. They showed the numberplate KU03 DWY, which is now known to be false.

A police spokeswoman said: 'We are pleased with the response we have received from the public. We are still keen to talk to anyone who saw the van or has any information as to its whereabouts.

'A team of detectives are actively investigating and forensic evidence is currently being analysed. Anyone who believes they have information, however insignificant they think it is, should contact detectives on 0845 60 70 999 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.'
