GREAT BONFIRE NIGHT
BARCOMBE held arguably its best ever Bonfire Night on Saturday, with 11 visiting bonfire societies swelling the ranks of the main procession.
The weather was kind enough during the evening for more than 3,000 cheering people to watch the processions through the village.
Some 150 Barcombe Bonfire Society members, dressed as Dickensians and black and red-hooped smugglers, were joined by 300-plus colourful visitors from Burgess Hill, Lindfield, Rotherfield, Firle, Newick, Nevill Juvenile, Vines Cross, South Heighton, Cliffe, Borough and Southover.
