Green status considered for beach

The application to have village green status granted for Herbrand Walk beach will be re-considered at Lewes on Wednesday (May 25).

Campaigners who have been fighting development on this stretch of coastline are invited to attend the East Sussex County Council meeting from 10.30am at County Hall.

This will include members of Herbrand Walk Beach Preservation Society and “everybody else who is interested” according to chairman John Hodson.

The application was heard at a meeting with ESCC members towards the end of last year but put on hold while further investigations and clarifications were made.
