Grieving family:'close this rail crossing'

A GRIEVING family and a parish council are calling for the closure of a pedestrian railway crossing after a popular Littlehampton teenager was killed by a train.

Three young friends watched in horror on New Year's Day evening as 18-year-old Adam Blackwood was hit by a fast train as he used the footway crossing between Warren Crescent, East Preston, and Ashurst Way, Angmering.

Adam's parents, David and Karen Blackwood, and his sister Belinda, have spoken of their grief and their belief that crossings of this type were dangerous.
