Members of the campaign group fighting to save Lewes Post Office from closure will stage a protest outside the High Street branch tomorrow morning (Saturday, April 16).
The group will be gathering even more signatures on the 3,683-strong petition, which will be handed in to Lewes District Council and, when it reaches 5,000 signatories, East Sussex County Council.
The protest will start outside Lewes Post Office at 10am before moving down to Cliffe Bridge at around 11am.
There, a new campaign will launch whereby people will be asked to pick up a ‘Save Lewes Post Office’ postcard and write their reasons for wanting to save the historic branch.
The postcards will then be sent to Paula Vennells, CEO of Post Office Ltd, and Roger Gale, general manager for the Crown and WHSmith Network at Post Office Ltd.
A public meeting will also be held in the Elephant and Castle on Monday evening (April 18) from 7.30pm.
