Guides welcome seven new members with trip to Butlins

The newcomers among the group of 25 Guides were welcomed with Creme Eggs when they arrived at Butlins for the Easter ceremony with a difference.

They went straight to the rides where the five Guiders had to brave the attractions to hear five of the Guides make their promises.

Next stop was the Aquasplash pool where the promises were made by the two other Guides.

Diane Rhodes, one of the Guiders, stated: 'With some coaxing, the girls left the pool to have their packed lunches, then went back to the rides, shops and activities for the rest of the afternoon.

'The day was a resounding success and the seven new Guides will always remember making their promise as a Guide.

'Thanks to Butlins for the welcome and to their excellent staff.'
