Gull shot - horror

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a gull was shot and seriously injured in Hastings on Sunday night.

A witness saw a teenage boy aiming an air rifle at the bird in Linley Drive, Hastings and then the bird was found injured.

The RSPCA was called and the bird was collected and taken to the RSPCA Mallydams Wood Wildlife Centre where it was treated by a vet and will be cared for until it is ready to be released.

RSPCA Inspector Sarah Farquett said: "This bird was caused a serious injury and whoever did this could face prosecution. We would like to hear from anyone with any information about who shot this bird."
