Gypsy Jazz willhelp to beat theNew Year Bluesat beach venue

He is widely regarded as one of the UK’s Top Gypsy Jazz Guitarists and has toured the UK, Australia and France as well as performing at Buckingham Palace and Live on BBC Radio 2.

He is a self taught guitarist born in Hereford in 1988 to a French Mother and English Father. He is influenced by many different musical styles from Jazz and Blues to Classical and World to Rock, Heavy Metal, Drum and Bass and Hip Hop.

He grew up in an very creative environment with both of his parents being artists, his mother a cartoonist and his father a landscape and seascape painter. They named him Remi after the 2nd and 3rd notes of the major scale “Do “Re Mi” Fa So La Ti Do”.

At age 7 Remi bought himself his first guitar with money he had saved up and began figuring out how to play from CD’s, magazines and videos footage of his favourite bands. In these early years he was inspired by artists such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix and Peter Green which he grew up hearing via his Dad’s record collection. Remi started performing at 11 years old.

He has always been fascinated with a wide variety of musical styles and his love of improvising eventually led him to jazz.

At age 20 Remi decided he would learn to play Gypsy Jazz Guitar. He set about learning this style from videos on youtube, CDs and jam sessions. Within two years he had turned professional playing this music and since then has received international recognition for developing his own unique sound and style within this genre.

They take Traditional Gypsy Jazz and Swing Characteristics and infuse them with influences from Bebop, Blues, World Music, Rock, Contemporary Jazz and Popular Melodies.
