Hailsham

MARKET: Final preparations are being made for the Food and Drink Market on Saturday July 30, from 9.30am until 4pm. Vicarage Field will take on a distinctly continental flavour when Italia in Piazza, an authentic Italian market, will set up stalls selling traditional food such as cheeses, cured meats, pasta, olive oils, vinegars and regional specialities. All produce will be imported directly from producers in Italy. The market, which is being organised by Hailsham Town Council in partnership with Hailsham Forward, will also include the usual street market stalls selling a range of locally sourced food, gifts and accessories. Historic Hailsham Parish Church will be open to welcome visitors from 11am to 2pm and Hailsham FM will be broadcasting the event live.

SCALEXTRIC EVENING: The Men at HPC met a while back to help Tony test the track. The tension could be felt throughout the evening as they had to make sure a full test was completed and the cars were taken to their limits. After a small time, well fairly small time, the track and everything was set up. They then enjoyed a great evening of fun racing the cars, with some showing their competitive streaks more than others. Thanks go to Tony and his team who have set up an initiative for dads and children to meet and race once a month at Emmanuel. This is proving to be a good way of getting to know some dads who do not come to church. The meets are on the first Saturday of every month from 7pm to 9pm for dads and their 7 years plus children. The next is on August 6.
